As a Maryland wedding photographer, I love venues that give couples options without making the day feel complicated. Vignon Manor Farm does exactly that. You can move from the Manor House to your ceremony, cocktail hour in the courtyard, portraits around the property, and your reception in the barn, all without ever leaving the venue.
Kim and Pat’s wedding was such a fun example of how all of these spaces can come together. They planned a classic celebration with navy and sage details, beautiful florals, and plenty of thoughtful touches for their families. We had the opportunity to use the full property throughout the day, including the barn as a backdrop for their golden hour portraits.
Why do you love working at Vignon Manor Farm?
The variety is probably my favorite thing about Vignon Manor Farm. When I’m photographing a wedding, I want to be able to give my couples a gallery that feels visually interesting without making them spend their entire day traveling between locations. Vignon makes that easy! The property includes the Manor House, Paddock Lounge, main barn, Courtyard, multiple ceremony locations, and 160 acres of private property. Each space offers something different.
For Kim and Pat, we were able to explore the property for their golden hour portraits and use the barn in the background. It gave their portraits a completely different feel from the photos we had taken earlier in the day.
I also love that the venue gives couples so much flexibility in how they structure their wedding. You can have an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour in the Courtyard before moving inside for your reception, or choose one of the indoor options if the weather calls for it.

Vignon Manor Farm offers couples the use of a 160-acre private estate, which means there’s a lot of room to make the property your own. The venue’s 12-hour rental includes the Manor House, Paddock Lounge, entire barn, three ceremony sites, and The Courtyard at Vignon. Tables and chairs for up to 275 guests are also included.
But what really stands out to me is how much room there is for couples to make the day personal! Kim and Pat did this beautifully. Their classic navy and sage color palette gave the wedding an elegant foundation, but it was the personal touches that made the day feel like theirs. They had a champagne wall welcoming guests into the reception, honored both of their mothers with flower crowns, and had a surprise family performance waiting for them when they returned from golden hour portraits. They also shared their pregnancy announcement during the reception, giving their friends and family another incredibly special moment to celebrate.

One of the biggest benefits of a Vignon Manor Farm wedding is having both indoor and outdoor options.
Outdoor Ceremony Spaces
Vignon offers three different outdoor ceremony locations, giving couples the opportunity to choose the setting that best fits their vision. The property provides a beautiful countryside backdrop without requiring you to leave the venue for your portraits afterward.
Indoor Ceremony and Reception Space
The main indoor event space is surrounded by glass windows and features unique hanging chandeliers. There’s plenty of room for different floor plans, along with space for a dance floor.
This also gives couples a beautiful backup option if the weather isn’t cooperating. Vignon can move an outdoor ceremony inside with enough notice to make the necessary adjustments.
The Courtyard at Vignon
The Courtyard is an outdoor space that’s perfect for cocktail hour. It gives guests a chance to enjoy the property and mingle before heading into the reception. I also love the opportunity this creates for couples to break up the day visually. Instead of every part of the wedding happening in the same room, you can move through different spaces and let each part of the celebration have its own feel.
The Octagon
The Octagon sits at the heart of the main barn and features beautiful stonework, a wrought iron staircase, and two levels of cocktail hour space. It’s one of those areas that gives the barn a little more character than you might expect from a traditional barn venue. The natural light and architectural details also make it a beautiful space to photograph.

One of my favorite opportunities is using the barn itself as a portrait backdrop. We did this with Kim and Pat during golden hour, and the combination of the evening light and the barn’s architecture created such a beautiful setting.
The Property
With 160 acres to explore, there are plenty of opportunities for portraits surrounded by the landscape. This is especially nice if you want your wedding gallery to have a little more of a countryside feel.
The Courtyard
The Courtyard is beautiful for candid photos during cocktail hour, especially when guests are enjoying drinks and visiting with one another.
The Manor House
The getting-ready space is filled with natural light, making it a great place for those early portraits and details before the ceremony.
The best part is that you don’t have to choose just one. Having access to the full property means we can take advantage of different spaces throughout the day.

Tip 2: Plan for golden hour.
If portraits are important to you, I highly recommend setting aside time to step away from the reception for golden hour. Kim and Pat’s portraits with the barn in the background were one of my favorite parts of their gallery.
Tip 3: Think about how you want the spaces to flow.
The indoor and outdoor options allow you to create a natural progression throughout the day. You might have your ceremony outside, cocktail hour in the Courtyard, and your reception inside the barn.
